If you are looking for something to do with your yacht why not try the Liverpool Bay Three Rivers Challenge. You must start within 200 metres of ‘Pluckington‘ buoy and then round the following buoys: ‘G11‘ in the Mersey, ‘Gut‘ off the Ribble, and ‘West Bar‘ in the Dee, before returning to within 200 metres of ‘Pluckington‘. You choose when to start, the order of buoys, and the route. Depending on the route selected the distance is in the order of 75 to 80 miles. Engines only to be used to avoid/recover from hazardous situations.
Given that the Challenge potentially involves navigating shoals, strong tidal waters, and channels used by commercial vessels, LYC does not accept any responsibility for vessels attempting this challenge. The safety of a boat is that of the Skipper and crew alone.
Please see the sailing instructions for more information and email racing@lyc.org.uk with any queries.
The current record was set by Alistair Roaf on Lillebolero on 14/9/24 and is 23 hours: 50 minutes: 55 seconds
