MENAI MOORING 1
Lat 53 13.752N / Long 004 09.111W
This Mooring is located off the Anglesey shore fairly close to Menai Bridge and opposite the Bangor University Rowing Club premises (see picture below). You’ll find it close to Ynys Ceint and what’s known locally as the paint raft near ”The Islands”.
Dinghies can be launched and landed at the Menai Bridge slipway close to the well known St. George’s Pier. Yachts can berth at the pier to take on water or crew and to await the tide for the Swellies. It’s also possible to spend the night on the pier but berthing fees that have been relaxed over recent years may well soon be reinstated. There are plenty of watering holes and eateries in Menai Bridge offering all kinds of food so you should easily find something to fit your taste and budget. There are also numerous shops and a supermarket within walking distance. General refuse can be dumped in the skips provided at the top of the Pier.

MENAI MOORING 2
Lat 53 14.544N / Long 004 07.789W
The newly acquired Menai mooring has now been moved to a spot close to its original position off the Gazelle slipway but now in more shelter and away from other moorings. If you want to use it you’ll find it on the South Western side of the slipway on the Anglesey shore almost opposite Bangor Pier (see picture below). You can still launch and land your dinghy from the Council owned slipway and park in the Gazelle car park while unloading and loading. (Please note: You must take your rubbish home with you). If you plan on sailing off for a couple of days it’s better to relocate your car in the lay-by on the public road above the pub. You can then walk down to the slipway and easily board your boat on the nearby LYC mooring. The slipway launch fee is covered by the payment that LYC makes to Ynys Mon Council.
At the time this picture was taken a pot had been positioned on the sea bed close to the LYC mooring. If anyone experiences problems with lobster / crab pot buoys they should contact Ynys Mon and report the problem. See Contacts & Advice page.
